Why this tuition? 

In ZR Education, students are tutored by a top university graduate, Teacher Ken. During his years of teaching, he has most of his students who have at least achieved A or B grade in their Physics, Chemistry and A/E maths.

 

He holds not one, but 2 Master's degree, one from MIT and the other from NUS. In year 2006, teacher Ken graduated from NTU with 1st class honors degree.

MIT ranked World No. 1 university for Science & Technology

He was awarded a scholarship to MIT to pursue his Master's degree there. And he will share his scoring technique in his class. Most of his students have applied his method and scored well.

NTU & NUS ranked No. 11 and No. 15 respectively.

Other Achievements:

• 2004-2006: Placed on Dean's list, being top 5% of student population for consecutive 3 years
• 2006: Graduated with 1st class honours degree
• NTU President Research Scholar
• Highest mark for Final year project

He was an ex-polytechnic lecturer, teaching advanced diploma programme in Singapore Polytechnic. Furthermore, he is equipped with more than a decade of teaching experience of Secondary Mathematics (A/E Maths) and Science (Physics/Chemistry). In addition, he is well updated with current GCE O-level syllabus.

He does not just teach subjects, he focuses on conceptual learning. This helps him to ensure students understand what he say and are able to apply concepts to questions. Also, Teacher Ken share techniques to study effectively and efficiently for examinations, more than just working hard.

Teacher Ken not only teaches about concepts, he also emphasises a lot on application. During Physics and Chemistry, he would ask us to think of different applications of that topic. I find it useful because it test our knowledge beyond the textbook and it's helpful for exam questions too.

Encouraged me to do self learning

In his tuition class, homework is optional. However, for me, I feel motivated to take the initiative to do my own self revision. Teacher ken also plays his part by doing his own self check on his students. For Chemistry, he asks us to summarise what is taught in the previous lesson before going through the next section of the topic. Without homework, it gives me time for my school work.

Deliver concepts well and knows my weakness

For me, I like how Teacher Ken understands each student’s weakness. When going through a concept, he knows how to structure it in such a way that I understand. So it caters to my learning style and it benefits me.

Before jumping into a topic, he usually gives examples which relates back to the topic. So it is simple to understand the topic. The questions that he gives us are not solely focused on the topic itself but it also links back to other topics. This is similar to exam format and helps me to adapt to these types of questions.
